Younger Boy and I went to Walmart during Middle Boy's group therapy today in order to get items for our tailgating party tonight at the college football game.
We bought snacks for the day and tailgate food and drinks for during the game.
Walmart was SO BUSY. We were in line for a long time.
There was a woman in line behind us with a toddler. The little boy did really well for a long time and then started to get fussy. Younger Boy talked to him and played with him. Once we got out items loaded at the checkout he turned to the mom and asked her if she would like his help. He also volunteered to help her take her items to the car.
She looked at her toddler son and said "maybe one day you will be as kind as this boy". Younger Boy just BEAMED and this young mom was so thankful.
I was a proud mama, because I didn't encourage this nor is it something I have taught him. There are just some times when he is so compassionate and caring for others that it melts my heart. This morning was one of them.
