Tonight at dinner Younger Boy was trying to make his "final decision" about going out for football. I am not asking it to be his final decision. I am just asking that if he starts the season he finishes it.
He talked all about football. What position might he play? Do I think he will be good at it?
I can tell this decision is really weighing heavily on him and I didn't know why. Finally I just asked.
He is concerned he won't be able to control his anger. He is afraid he will get tackled and want to punch the person who did it. Wow...valid concern, but if it is on his mind he can fight those urges.
We talked about sportsmanship and how tackling is part of football.
He is going to try out for the team. He will likely make it. He is fairly athletic and they have three levels of teams.
Prayers for his anxiety surrounding anger management. Praises for his recognition of the issue.
