I am frustrated with everything needing to be done in the next few weeks.  Overwhelmed and frustrated.

It is not a good combination when you add two people into the mix who live in survival brain mode.  Two people who are learning to distinguish between a need and a want and also delayed gratification, but still have a long way to go.

I got FOUR calls this afternoon at work about "emergencies" and "urgent" things which ABSOLUTELY must take place today or the entire world will come crashing down.

Here are the things which could literally bring down earth as we know it if they do NOT happen today:
  1. A haircut.
  2. Eating at Buffalo Wild Wings.
  3. Getting a game DVD cleaned at the video shop.
  4. Buying new tennis shoes for school.
Middle Boy has therapy tonight.   By the time we drive there and home three hours of the evening...GONE.

I asked each boy with a "demand" to pick ONE THING they "needed" done today and we could get it done.  I told them to have it selected by the time I picked them up.

It is going to be ugly.  These choices are not things they can choose.  I have found (through training and experience) that if I make the choice the behaviors will be MUCH WORSE than if I allow the choice to be made by the boys.  Honestly, I don't care which ones we do.  We do eventually want to do them all.  We just don't physically have time to do them all tonight.

I am not handling demands on my time well right now myself so this is going to be a lesson for everyone.

Prayers for calm thoughts and efficient work through things to be done.
