This morning both boys set alarms for 5:45AM.
Why? No idea.
At least this morning they both got up and out of bed and I didn't have to go and turn off the clocks.
When I finished getting ready they were both in the living room sleeping. Neither had shoes on and they weren't ready to go.
On the way to daycare we talked about what time they need to get up. I asked them to each make a list of the things they need to do in the morning and how long they will take.
We will be leaving the house at 6:45AM this fall.
Their assignment is to figure out what time they need to get up and then in turn what time they need to go to bed. I told them they will both need to get 9-1/2 hours of sleep and to plan accordingly.
I could tell already this was not going over big in their heads. Middle Boy said he MUST get up at 5:45AM. He was SHOCKED when I told him the corresponding bedtime was 8:15PM.
He tried to make a claim that he isn't grouchy today and he got up at 5:45AM. He is correct, but IT WAS ONE DAY. When we get to day three or four it will be an entirely different story.
It will be interesting to see what they come up with.
Prayers for this assignment to make them think through their "logic".
