Tonight was Middle School check in for Younger Boy.  It was not nearly as chaotic as Middle Boy's high school check in.

Here's a recap of our time there...
  1. We stop at the nurse's station.  Our doctor has given us the right forms for the immunization records, but the wrong form for the sports physical.  Assignment - Call tomorrow to get appropriate form faxed to the school.
  2. Stop at PTA table.  Give them a check for the school directory and child receives half (yes half) of a fresh baked chocolate chip cookie.
  3. Stop to pick up schedule.  Notice Younger Boy is enrolled in Intermediate Band.  Wouldn't be a bad thing...had he finished Beginning Band, but he didn't.  Assignment - Figure out how to it fixed.
  4. Pick up agenda.  Give them a check for the agenda.
  5. Go to gymnasium.  Take school pictures.  Decide not to order pictures.  Wonder what some people are thinking with what some of the kids are wearing for school pictures.
  6. Run into a friend of mine from junior high there with her 7th grader.  Chat for a few minutes.
  7. Go to cafeteria.  Go through lunch line to write a check for meals.
  8. Get in line for activity card so Younger Boy can participate in sports.  Sign waivers and decide which sports he will be allowed to participate in.  Write them a check.  While waiting in line send Younger Boy to "much shorter" yearbook line with a check for that.
  9. Go to athletic line to get schedules for sports for the year and turn in waiver forms.
  10. Go back upstairs to Principals Office to find out how to change schedule.
  11. Go to Guidance Counselor area.  Wait in line for Guidance Counselor.
  12. Meet with Guidance Counselor about Band.  Younger Boy chooses performance choir.  Ever since the high school open house he has been DYING to be in a show choir.
  13. Go find locker.
  14. Try to open locker.  Combination is 49-31-9.  Try eleven times to no avail.  I try to open locker.  Get it on first try.  Younger Boy tries five more times.  Not opening.  I do it again.  First try.  Three more for Younger Boy with me REALLY TRYING to figure out what is going wrong.  I open it again.  Finally Younger Boy gets it to open three times.  We are done messing with locker.  Assignment - pray locker partner is ALWAYS there when Younger Boy needs it open.
  15. Go to first class to meet teachers.  Reading teacher is AMAZING.  Ask how to know who IEP holder is.
  16. Be introduced to team IEP holder.  Find out she doesn't have him on her list.
  17. Go with IEP holder and head of special education to Guidance Office to rearrange schedule so IEP holder can touch base with him in three separate classes throughout day.
  18. Leave to go home!
I LOVE his IEP holder.  I think she will be AMAZING!!  I am so thankful for it.  She hosts a before and after school homework help.  Younger Boy loves her.

Football starts on Tuesday.  No need to worry about transportation.
