Tonight I got the adoption petitions to review.  Honestly they are pretty simple.

Some things I didn't previously know and actually questioned.  Other things were cleared up.

Here is what I thought happened in Younger Boy's case:

Bio Dad's rights were terminated in January 2008.
Bio Mom relinquished her rights in February 2008.

What actually happened:

Bio Mom relinquished her rights in February 2008.
Bio Dad's rights were terminated May 2012.  It had never actually been done and when the adoption packet was filed the state terminated.

Here is what I thought happened in Middle Boy's case:

Bio Mom's rights were relinquished in 2007.
Bio Dad's rights were relinquished in 2008.

What actually happened:

Bio Mom's rights were terminated in 2007.
Bio Dad's rights were terminated in 2008.

Middle Boy has been carrying baggage that his mom relinquished.  She was terminated.  He talks all the time about how neither parent wanted him.  Likely not true.  When we start attachment therapy maybe we can work through the truth.
