Today when we were at the high school check-in a lady came up to me and said "Are you the foster or adoptive mom of Middle Boy?"

Yes, but should I be saying no?

It was a foster mama who had done respite for Middle Boy a number of times during the year he lived with his previous placement.  She has two kids who will be going to his high school.  The son greeted him and gave him a hug.

She was very kind and encouraging to him.  I love that about a lot of foster parents.

As it turns out I have talked to this foster mama a number of times on the phone, because her foster kiddos come to the camps I do registration for.  It was good to finally meet her.  I was also able to give her an update on some twins who used to be in her home and have since gone home.

It is always encouraging to run into other foster parents.  I love that she sought out Middle Boy.  It made him feel special.  I could just tell.

Praises for this woman stepping out of her comfort zone and making the day of a teenage boy!
